It's fine, never really had an issue with discomfort. I'm currently rocking a white Aldi ski helmet that I bought second-hand for like $15 (this one: ) and have used it for the last 3 seasons. Where I board, it's usually a thin layer of loose snow over compacted snow/ice so catching an edge often rings my head like a bell. I like doing small jumps and am interesting in learning more tricks. I don't usually go through the trees/rocks but when I do, I go pretty slow and purposely fall over if I start losing control. Expert runs scare me but I can usually do the easier ones. I wouldn't say I'm expert level but can do most lower-intermediate runs over here sort of comfortably while upper-intermediate runs provide a fun challenge. I've been boarding every year for about 8 years now, averaging about 1wk of boarding per year. I'm a uni student earning about $400/week ($270 USD) and saving money for a car because my current one was expected to break down 3 years ago. Also cost of living and many things like cars and, in my experience, ski gear is faarrken expensive compared to places like Germany. I'm Australian so all dollars will be AUD unless stated otherwise (right now 1 USD = 1 EURO = 1.5 AUD). r/SkiBuddies (Find people to ride with!)
